Test flutter app against backend api build in bitrise

Hi Bitrise community

We are a small start-up working on automizing testing and deployment. We would like to be able to first build or backend and test that, if that passes then we would like to trigger a build of our flutter app and run the flutter test against the backend that we just build. My question is: Is there a way to keep the build of our backend alive and get the IP for that virtual machine for us to run our flutter test against that IP?

Hope one of you out there can help us

Hi there @Feedbackbox

Due to the nature of how the Virtual Machines work (being created at the start of the Build and destroyed shortly after the build finished), you cannot really keep the backend of the build alive for long (remote access is also only available for 10 extra minutes after the build ends).
You can extend this time though adding a Script step at the end of your workflow, with a command to let the build “sleep” for a time specified in seconds. :slightly_smiling_face:

This cannot, however, cause your builds to run longer than their original limit, so bear that in mind :point_left:
