Why does Bitrise Checks require "write access to code"?

Hello Bitrise team, I have a question.

I am looking into using Bitrise Checks integration for Github, but I noticed that it requests “Write access to code”. I’m curious, what do you need the write access for? AFAIC, Bitrise Checks should only report results from CI.

Hi @dvdchr-tvlk!

That’s a fair question. I believe this is the default authorization page GitHub presents you with. It is indeed not necessary for the feature to have access to the code, however, it does require write access to the repository, since it’s where it posts its summaries and that’s what the line should be referring to in general.
