Insufficient disc space when building

Bitrise Build Issue Report template

Unity Android builds keep failing with “no disc space left”

Description of the issue

The issue is pretty strange one. A while ago, week or a little bit more, everything was going smoothly. One day all Unity Android builds started to fail. With no major (not even minor) changes to project. We have different messages:
“no space left on device”
“There is not enough space available on “Untitled” to install the software. An additional 2 GB is required.”
Never seen those before.

I’ve tried different ways to optimize our project, but the cache is pretty big one - about 3.5 GB. Does anyone know what happened? Are there any new limits to Bitrise infrastructure regarding disc space? There is no info about it in machine specifications.

I’m helpless now…

(btw iOS builds run smoothly as always)

Environment:

Visual Studio for Mac, Stable Channel
Unity 2019.1.1f1

Which build Step causes the issue and which version of the step?

Different steps: installing Unity, pushing cache, building project.

Reproducibility

Can’ tell if it happens to anyone else. I’ve turn on support access already, but no info till now.

To sum up, fails every time. Started a week ago. All steps are in the newest version. Cache was completely rebuilt.

Hi @parafin,

First and foremost sorry about the huge delay on your report here. We’ve recognized the problem and actually freed up some space Xcode 11.2, VS4Mac Stable and VS4Mac Beta stacks! :tada:

If you’re still running into similar problems despite of that, please let us know.

Hello,

it’s great to hear that it’s already working as it should be. But actually I got rid of this problem a while ago. Waiting for two months was too much… It cost a lot of our time and money so I couldn’t waste more time. Luckily I didn’t have to look for another CI service, writing additional steps to free some disk space (eg. removing all xCode tools when building for Android) fixed the issue.

At some point of my discussion with your Support stuff, they stopped replying. Please don’t do this in future. It would be much more helpful if you write that you won’t fix it in the next month than not replying at all.

Best regards,
Paweł
