I apologize if this has been answered but I have not found how to do this but is there a way to display the version of the app on the dashboard instead of the bitrise build#?

Unfortunately not, as of now it is made like this on the front-end, but you could make a feature request if you can’t find one on this ( http://discuss.bitrise.io/c/feature-request ).
I’m not the iOS developer, I’m the Windows Build/Rel eng using TFS and my boss asked me to familiarize myself with this build process.
