# Creating a release branch (+ naming it based on the current app version)

Hi all.

I am thinking of automating the creating of release branches, eg on mondays at 3pm. I know a workflow can be scheduled at a specific time, but I’m not sure if creating a branch is possible. Ideally, it would also be named based on the minor version + 1 of the app/target (iOS in this case).

Although Bitrise has both a schedule feature and a trigger map that can start builds regarding what changes happen in your Git repository, it cannot directly influence your repositories in this manner.  
You can, however, submit a feature request for this: [Feature Requests - Bitrise Discussions](http://discuss.bitrise.io/c/feature-request)
